Robert Mugisha Named Ambassador for Peace
May 27, 2009
Last week, Survivor Corps Africa Program Associate Robert Mugisha was honored as an Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation. Her Excellence, Ambassador of Bahrain, Mrs. Houda Ezra Nonoo, also an honoree, hosted the event and presented the award to Robert.

Robert is famous for saying that he is the only one in the room that doesn’t know where he is from. Born in Uganda with Rwandan parents, Robert returned to Kigali shortly after the 1994 genocide. He joined a team of young lawyers actively working to restore order and rebuild the country that most of them had only known through stories from their parents.

If you come to the Survivor Corps office in DC, you're likely to find Robert on the phone with Pierre Claver in Burundi or Albert in Rwanda or running to the State Department or an embassy. He ensures that all of our programs in the Great Lakes region of Africa are running smoothly.

Congratulations, Robert! You are most deserving of your new honor, Ambassador for Peace!

Congratulations, Robert.

Let the award give you more courage to do everything you can do best in the interest of Survivor Corps. The award places you on the pedestal of achievers. Meaning? You need to do even more!
